Engagement Photo Shoot

We were lucky enough to have Megan's wedding photographer refer us to an AMAZING portland photographer named Yasmin (like Jasmin but with a "Y") Khajavi. We chose to do our engagement pictures somewhere outdoors. To make it more personal of a place we have a gorgeous secluded park just up the road from my house called Lewisville Park. Of course we had a week full of sunshine leading up to the shoot and woke up for this day and its raining. But we thought we'd take our chances. Luckily enough all we had at most was a light drizzle and the rainy day feel added more to our homage to the northwest!

Enjoy

Welcome

First of all let me just say congratulations!
Why?
Because you are some of the lucky few of the world who have had or still know the greatest that is Cody and Jessica.

I, (Jessica) will be the main author of this blog but hope to encourage (*cough* force)  Cody to maybe write a post every now and then, just to keep things fresh and interesting.

As you (should) know WE ARE ENGAGED!! Yes, in many ways it has been a long time coming but in a way it was always meant to happen now. Things are just funny like that.
Some quick facts about the wedding:
date: May 5th
where: Portland Oregon Temple; reception at the Venersborg Schoolhouse
colors: Teal, Burlap, Ivory
I have been in full wedding planning mode. Right now almost all of the big items are checked off my life (ring, dress, venue, photography). The only thing that is time sensitive at the moment is getting wedding invitations out which I hope to in the next week.

and since this is the first post of the new blog allow me to recap recent happenings or catch up those who have no idea what is going on in our lives:
  • Jessica is a full time nanny for a five year old boy and three year old twin girls. She has also been a teacher for NW Children's Art (none of the projects are ones Jessica created if you follow the link and go to the photo gallery just fyi) and has been creating the projects for each session since last fall. As of February 29th she will no longer teach (not worth the money to drive half an hour each way for an hour class one day a week) but will continue to make the projects which she LOVES.
  • Cody is a Real Estate Agent for Coldwell Bankers, but now they call them Brokers. He works out of the same office as his mom here in Battle Ground which has been a great blessing. Many times they'll work together as a team and Cody gets a free and loving mentor. His boss has also taken a liking to Cody and really helped him get business going. No official sale that was 100% his but things are looking up. Don't listen to the news when they say housing is still in the toilet, because at least for this area things are turning around for the better.
  • Jessica and Cody are currently attending the Clark YSA Ward. Cody is serving as a ward missionary and was quite disappointed when he found out that he didn't get missionary tags. Jessica is enjoying this rare no-calling period of her life.
  • We both turned 23 recently. (Jessica-Dec 12th, Cody-Jan 29th)
  • and no they don't know where they are living yet. Cody's working on it. All we know is we'll be in the area since Cody's office is in Battle Ground.
That's it for now folks. And again let me just say welcome and we're happy that you like us enough to follow what's going on in our lives!
