BLISS

If there is one word to describe my feelings of our wedding day and the honeymoon that followed it would be bliss.
Even with a couple hang ups and everything not going "exactly as planned", it really couldn't have gone any better. My sister kept telling me through out the day to not get stressed and just enjoy myself and I think I can say that I honestly did. We were so blessed to have so many friends and family share that special day with us. It just adds so much more joy and happiness to the memory. And in the end I got a best friend for ETERNITY!

For our honeymoon we were blessed to have Cody's parents buy us 5 days in paradise aka The Grand Wailea in Maui, Hawaii.
Everyday was relaxing, swimming, laying out in the sun, laying in the shade, enjoying good food, swimming, relaxing, and so on and so on. I couldn't have dreamed up a better honeymoon. And the best part? I got to spend 24/7 with the guy I just can't get enough of.
Cody's Aunt decorated our room with personalized glasses before we got there!

it was quite windy when we arrived
The area we stayed at was what our shuttle driver called "the tourist trap" which in hawaiian means stuff costs WAY more than it should. Cody's had stayed in a resort neighboring ours some years back and recommended this little burger joint for a more affordable meal. After 5 hours of flight + other travel time this place hit.the.spot.

my awesomely terrible panoramic view from our room
outside the place we went whale-watching
the harbor we left from
Part of our hotel package Julie got us through LivingSocial.com got us free tickets to go whale watching and to the Aquarium right next door. Unfortunately we got the time wrong for the whale watching (it was actually at 12pm not 9am) but fortunately that gave us plenty of time to explore the Aquarium!
so awesomely disturbing
still waiting for the whale watching we found a small little patch of sand and ocean. I went shell surfing while Cody sat. There were actually a TON of black crabs that coated those rocks and would hop from one to the other.
Our whale watching tour guide
this is our "we didn't see any whales" face. We did however get to see some flying fish and sea turtles!

At the Luau. Our resort gives the best luau around. We got a buffet, open bar (kind of a waste for us), 9 acts of hawaiian dancing glory ending with the three time world champion fire knife dancer!
Mai Tai's and Pina Coladas

Our Kalua Pork. They cook it underground then dig it up and serve it up.

Now for posing with statues time!:

Every night with our turn down service we received a lovely little hawaiian lullaby poem and a pretty flower
anytime you see one of these "posed pictures" we took pictures of each other then I spliced them together. So you can tell we both were there!

just a section of our lobby. it was huge. and gorgeous.
I loved in the evenings there were torches everywhere that lit the paths to the pools and through the gardens. Soo romantical.

There's a beautiful little chapel on the resort grounds where a lot of (rich) people get married. This sculpture was called the Celebration of Marriage. I found it very appropriate.
